HAVE YOU SEEN THESE TWO SCAMS YET?

SCAM #1: Your Account Has Been Disabled

Of course your page hasn’t been disabled — but clicking through this link will purport to walk you through the steps to ‘reactivate it.’ In the process you will give away your password, and your account will now be the property of the scammers.

SCAM #2: I Want To Buy / Return This Product

These aren’t customers, and those aren’t links! RAR and ZIP files will download malicious code on your desktop, allowing the scammers to hack your social media — and possibly your bank account.

SCAM #2B: Some Other Excuse To Click Bad Code

Every business Facebook page is currently being hit with these — often multiple times per day. If you see them your best bet is to use the action bar at the top to delete them by clicking the trash can. If that doesn’t make it go away you can hit the ! stop sign icon and send it to your spam folder.

Our hope is that Facebook will get a handle on these soon, but in the meantime be extra cautious and ignore anything that doesn’t feel right. As always, please feel free to hit us up if you have any questions. Thanks, Jess and Joel
